Every member of a group has a role. A role decides what you may do in the group.
The roles
- Owner: may do everything in the group, including deleting the group and making other members owners. Every group has at least one owner.
- Administrator: may update the group, manage guests and all join codes, make regular members administrators or remove them, edit or delete every quote in the group, and delete every comment. May not delete the group or change owners.
- Member: the default role. A member can save quotes and post comments, create join codes (and revoke their own join codes), edit and delete quotes they saved or authored, and edit or delete their own comments.
An administrator can only change the role of, or remove, members who rank lower (regular members). Owners rank above administrators and can also change the role of or remove other owners, as long as at least one owner remains. Nobody can edit another member's comment.
Changing a role
Go to Manage group, tap the member and choose a new role. Only an owner can make a member an owner. Note: if you are an owner and lower your own role, another owner has to give it back to you.
The last owner
If you are the only owner and there are still other members in the group, you can only leave the group after making someone else an owner first.
